Nice to meet you.

I'm Mike Benner.

I’m a writer and producer originally from Philadelphia. I’ve sold pilots and developed projects for places like Fox, Disney Animation, Comedy Central, Netflix, the BBC, Cartoon Network, Super Deluxe, and others. I also recently served as executive producer and showrunner of That Lion Show, an adult animated series about how capitalism is preventing Gen Z from pursuing their dreams, now streaming on the Roku Channel! I co-wrote the cult hit horror comedy Destroy All Neighbors, which is available on Shudder, AMC, and--fulfilling a childhood dream--VHS tape. I’ve also written for shows like Bob’s Burgers, Gravity Falls, Danger Mouse, Apple & Onion, Squidbillies, and more. Oh, and one time I got the rapper Quavo to say, “Quavo knows the novels of Nicholas Sparks” during a VO session.

Before moving to Los Angeles, I grew up working in my grandpop’s hardware store from age 6 to 22. After graduating from Temple University, I worked as a newspaper reporter covering City Hall politics in Philadelphia, a job that made me miserable and eventually drove me westward to pursue a career in the decidedly not miserable entertainment industry. When I’m not writing, I enjoys cookin, watching TV with my dog Greta, listening to rap music, watching basketball, skateboarding, sculpting little freaks out of clay, and traveling.

For work stuff, you can reach me through my manager Drew Shenfield at Mosaic.
