I'm Mike Benner.
Mike Benner is a writer and producer originally from Philadelphia. He’s sold pilots and developed projects for places like Fox, Disney Animation, Comedy Central, Netflix, the BBC, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Super Deluxe, and others. He recently served as executive producer and showrunner of That Lion Show, an adult animated series about how capitalism is preventing Gen Z from pursuing their dreams, now streaming on the Roku Channel! He co-wrote the cult hit horror comedy Destroy All Neighbors, starring Alex Winter and Jonah Ray Rodrigues, which is currently available on Shudder, AMC, VOD and--fulfilling a childhood dream--VHS. Oh, and one time he got the rapper Quavo to say, “Quavo knows the novels of Nicholas Sparks” during a recording session.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Mike grew up working in his grandfather’s hardware store. After graduating from Temple University, he was a newspaper reporter covering City Hall politics in Philadelphia, a job that made him miserable and eventually drove him westward to pursue a career in the decidedly not miserable entertainment industry. When he isn’t writing, Mike enjoys cooking, watching TV with his dog Greta, listening to rap music, watching basketball, skateboarding, sculpting little freaks out of clay, and traveling.
For work stuff, you can reach him through his manager Drew Shenfield at Mosaic.
